In 2015 Andrew Trotter, Vice President of West Coast Arborists and Gillian Martin, Director of the Cavity Conservation Initiative formed a partnership in California to address the recurring loss of nesting birds and habitat due to tree care.
Since then more than 200 stakeholders from all regions of California have requested participation. Focus groups have contributed to the development of Best Management Practices, and continue to develop training resources and communication tools. They represent the tree care industry, municipalities, utility companies, Audubon Chapters, wildlife rehabilitation centers, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other conservation groups.
